The beds are ready. And there are vulnerable girls who urgently need to be rescued from violence, abuse, and child marriage. The Home of Comfort, our new safehouse in Kenya, will provide these girls with protection, safety, counseling, and the love and care they desperately need.
Many girls and young women in Kenya are at risk of violence and sexual abuse - every single day. Although female genital mutilation is illegal, it is still widespread. And, because of the stigma associated with abuse, many young girls end up married to their abusers.
Tragically, abuse is so commonplace that it often becomes accepted as a way of life. And the law, designed to protect the vulnerable, is ignored.
We are committed to changing this story by giving hope to vulnerable girls and seeking justice on their behalf.
Fourteen-year-old Nancy* was rescued last year from a living nightmare.
She had been horribly and repeatedly abused with no hope of escape…until our staff rescued her! With tender-loving care, counseling, and support, her life is being transformed daily. She has returned to school and is excited about her future. And her abuser is behind bars, never to be released.
Tragically, many other girls are still living a similar nightmare.
That’s why the Home of Comfort is opening in Kenya. Here, vulnerable girls will be safe and out of the reach of predators. Here, they will learn that they are precious, beautiful, and valued - created in God’s image!
