Equipping Children Through Quality Education

“When you educate one person you change a life, when you educate many, you change the world.” -Shai Reshef

In the impoverished community of Ntagacha, children face poverty, abuse, hunger, and disease. Many children, especially girls, never step foot inside a classroom due to financial challenges or a lack of access to schools.

HopeCo provides quality education at Destiny Primary School and Dr. John Chacha Secondary School. Education is the only reliable exit from generational poverty, and our schools consistently score among the best in the country. We are equipping future leaders and change-makers, and a growing number of our students now go on to university.

Destiny primary school

There are currently 288 students enrolled at Destiny Primary School. Here, our students gain a solid academic foundation, learn valuable life skills, and become well-versed in the English language. These students have hope and are on the path to positive futures!

Dr. John chacha secondary school

141 students at our secondary school are on the path to bright futures. Our secondary school students scored in the top three percent of the country on their exams in 2021. New dormitories are almost complete and will allow us to cater to the needs of even more students.

leadership training

Excellence is not negotiable in our schools. Leadership development is a priority for our staff and students. We are intentional about giving our students opportunities to serve and develop their leadership skills. This often includes formal leadership classes, speaking at local schools, and mentorship.

Latest Stories of Hope From Our Schools!

“I know that God is working in this place…”

“Two years ago, one of the boys we serve, Philemon, was not doing well academically. To try and improve his performance, I met with him every day to encourage him and ask him questions. During our time together, there was a huge improvement - something every teacher loves to see in a student! Philemon is now doing well, will pass his final exams, and can go to university. He is well-behaved, listens to instructions, and then acts on them. When I ask him if he has unfinished work, he always says, ‘No!’ In my opinion, he is the most improved student at our secondary school, and when I see a student like Philemon improving, it gives me hope that it is possible to help other students, too! I know God is working in this place because of all the changes I see in children like Philemon.” -Deusderith Majji, Secondary School Headteacher

Educating Future Leaders in Tanzania

Will you join us in educating the future leaders of Tanzania?

Education is a key to new opportunities, providing children with the hope that they can break the chains of poverty and despair that have bound their families and communities for generations. That is why, at our primary and secondary schools, we place such a high emphasis on giving each child a quality education. Our vision is transformed lives and flourishing communities, and education is vital in accomplishing this.

Through quality education, these young people will grow to be change-makers in their workplaces, families, communities, and nations! We are already seeing our graduates excel in careers in teaching, business, nursing, and engineering.

Here’s How You can partner with our schools:

  • GIVE by becoming a Hope Partner for one of our schools. Our Hope Partners contribute $100 or more a month to a specific program and receive quarterly updates, reports, and stories.

  • PRAY for our teachers as they equip these young people with knowledge. Pray for each student to learn the necessary skills needed to fulfill their God-given purpose. Pray for each child that enters our schools to learn the Good News of the Gospel.

  • SERVE by coming on a mission team or as a volunteer to City of Hope, and spend time encouraging these students!

Thank you for Equipping the next generation of leaders!
