Thank you for your interest in reaching out to orphaned and disadvantaged children at The City of Hope. The City of Hope Children's Home is based on an innovative strategy that is making a difference in the lives of those who suffer pain, poverty and hopelessness daily.
The pilot project of The City of Hope is situated in the beautiful village of Ntagacha in western Tanzania, between the Serengeti National Park and Lake Victoria, near the border of Kenya. We are keeping the children in their own cultural environment where they can continue to be a vital part of their community. It is an area of stability and protection away from potential dangers such as human trafficking and drugs which are found in large cities.
Challenges children face today
Children today face remarkable obstacles that rob them of their hope and threaten to steal their future. Many children in Africa are raising themselves and their younger brothers and sisters because their parents have died. Poverty, lack of education, and lack of healthcare add to the difficulties. There has never been a more critical time to reach out and make a difference.

For $35 a month you can become personally involved in the life of one special child who will know you name, write to you and feel your tender love and prayers. $400.00 will provide sponsorship for one child for an entire year. To sponsor, complete this form. Click here
Become a Family of Hope Sponsor
You may also choose to sponsor a "family" unit of eight children for $280/month. This is a great idea for a Sunday School class, church, club or extended family. How the children benefit from sponsorship
The goal for the children at The City of Hope is to help them overcome the obstacles of poverty and equip them to to move confidently into the future. These children are the future leaders of Tanzania. You will become a partner in bringing transformation to their lives, to the community and to the nation.
Your sponsored children will receive hygiene education, life-coping skills, medical care, vocational training, and schooling. All this comes along with affirmation and love from house "parents" who create a family atmosphere different from many traditional orphanages. -
Other projects that support the children?
The "Dream Center" - a multi-functional facility within the same campus as the Children's Home. It will have classrooms for technical training, a computer lab, a library, auditorium, kitchen and dining area. This provides an environment for young men and women to develop leadership skills, life-skills, vocational skills, and educational skills needed to succeed. To be built in 2009.
A short distance from the Children's Home is The City of Hope's Tumaini Medical Center which will be opened in the Fall of 2009. This will not only provide healthcare for the children, but will serve the neighboring community as well.
The City of Hope's agri-business center includes 25 acres for crop farming. It will also include dairy and beef cows, chickens, and honey production in the near future. This will provide food for The City of Hope and will help meet the needs of widows and the needy in the community.
Communicating with your sponsored children
Each sponsor will receive a profile with a photograph and introductory information. You can send your sponsored children a personal or family photograph and a short letter to introduce yourself. The letter will be translated by our City of Hope staff and delivered to the children. You can also email your letters for your children to info@teamworkministries.com and we will translate and deliver. Your child will send you a personal letter once a year.
The City of Hope staff will provide you with periodic updates about the children's progress and newsletters about the activities at The City of Hope. If you would ever decide to visit, this can be arranged through our office.
